Bouche Labs Model 5000CR Automated Reciprocity Calibration System establishes piezoelectric, piezoelectric, and strain gage accelerometers as primary standards. This system establishes accelerometers as primary standards for vibration since only absolute measurements are made. No reference accelerometer is used to determine the sensitivity.
This system automatically performs transfer admittance and voltage ratio measurements to calculate the sensitivity of the accelerometer, per the reciprocity theory. Sensitivities obtained by the reciprocity method have an estimated error of less than 0.2% at frequencies from 100 Hz to 2,000 Hz. The estimated error above 2,000 Hz to 5,000 Hz is less than 0.5%. The reciprocity calibration is traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology through measurements of mass, voltage and frequency.
The 5000CR software automatically performs the transfer admittance and voltage ratio measurements with the instrumentation in the functional block diagrams shown below and on the reverse side of this page.
